A consultant is recommending a 20 year plan to rehab the Grand Forks County ramp after deeming the structure to be in poor condition for a structure of its age.

Walker Consultants conducted a condition appraisal on the ramp and discovered deteriorated precast concrete…failing expansion joint transfer plates…cracking concrete…and failing joint sealants.

Some of the most significant repairs are recommended in years 2023 and 2024 at a cost over more than $2.4 million dollars. By comparison the analysis suggests the cost to demolish and replace the parking deck with one of similar size would be some $15 million dollars.

The three level 350 stall ramp was constructed in 1998-99.

The report is going to the Grand Forks County Commission.
